" In structuring this view of Pete Hoida's work I have selected, identified and named groups of paintings that have major characteristics in common. Whilst the sequences are sometimes in close date order, often they stretch across periods. Certain motifs appear early and across categories and may then re-surface at later dates in developed forms. Most of these 'collections' have a common formal construction as well as a  certain colouristic identity."
